Indus International Schools, Bangalore and Hyderabad were very recently
acclaimed at a presentation in New Delhi, as the 3rd and 12th most respected
schools in India, on several parameters, based on an annual survey conducted
by Education World magazine and C-Fore. Principal, Mrs. Sarojini Rao was
felicitated and earlier, we of the Indus family had celebrated this accolade.
There was rejoicing and wonder!
"Complacency" is not a word in the Indus vocabulary and we
are in the habit of turning our successes into stepping stones to further
achievements. There is satisfaction and pride in the fact that our fore-runners
in this survey are schools which were established in the century before
the last! What makes us different from the schools that also ran? What
happened to schools which have time and tradition behind them?
They failed to notice the tectonic shift: the world is becoming flat.
True to our motto; we prepare for the challenges of our time, we see the
level field and work on the POWER of 5!

Our Faculty members draw strength from the acceptance by all students
as friend, philosopher and guide. They are made aware that they are responsible
for the development of the Whole child in each student, because they are
in loco parentis.
We expect each teacher to believe that every child has a right to her
teacher's commitment. Commitment implies caring and wanting the
right growth for a student. It does not mean walking away mid-term and
leaving students un-provided and uncared for. The guilt catches up, sooner
or later.
In other words, if there is a deficit of trust then leadership is bound
to fail. We have examples of this everyday and everywhere, in our land
and outside.
At Indus we look at Opportunities Leadership. There is a thin line between
1 and a 100; between the one who leads and the others. We look for opportunities
where we can be the One. We dare to enter, to serve and to blaze new trails.
We are not afraid of obstacles or impediments. We believe in the skills
we have. We grasp opportunities and enter the struggle to save, to help
and to include. We believe in the formula:
Attitude plus Aptitude=Altitude
As I began.. there is no end to trying. Endless effort and labour
are the horizons we must touch to become pre-eminent. That is the "OMNIA"
in our motto!
